Why it's important? ☝️ Unfortunately, we can't build everything our users want and the existing Views don't cover all use cases. So instead of throwing coins in a wishing well, you can use them to build a Custom App that does exactly what you need.

What are Custom Apps?

Custom Apps are exactly what it sounds like. Apps that you build on top of your Fibery workspace to add extra functionality. Tell the AI what you want and it builds it, with capabilities to see and modify your data. Dashboards, forms, reports, views, or anything else you want to use within Fibery.

Why build on top of Fibery?

You could vibe-code an app on your own in Claude Code, Codex, Lovable, etc. But you would be building everything from scratch, from the ground up. Custom Apps in Fibery inherit permissions, have access to your domain model, and have history and collaboration features built-in. So you can build app after app after app, without having to rebuild your foundations.

Build with MCP

Custom Apps can be built with Fibery AI, but you can also build with your AI of choice. Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Fibery MCP and prompt your build from there. Your AI will build a local file and upload it to your workspace, and you'll lower your AI spend (thank you subsidized tokens)!

Where is Custom App data stored?

The data your App works with lives in your Fibery databases, so you can change an App without breaking your data. The App itself is hosted in Fibery and lives in your Workspace.

Do I need to buy an add-on to build Custom Apps?

No, but you need to have a Pro-level Fibery plan or higher. New Fibery users get a 14-day trial of the Pro-level plan, so you can try building Custom Apps 😎

Can I share an App outside Fibery?

So far it's not possible to share an App outside Fibery. However, you can publish the Fibery Space where your App lives to the web, which will make your App accessible.

Can I edit code manually?

Yes, once you have built your App with a prompt, you can edit the existing code. Currently, it's not possible to add or delete code files, though.

How much does it cost to build a Custom App?

It depends on the complexity of your App, but generally speaking—pretty much $0.

If you connect via MCP, the only cost is the tokens you use in Claude, ChatGPT, or whichever AI provider you've pledged your allegiance to.

If you build with Fibery AI, you spend AI credits. Your plan includes a certain amount of AI credits and you can always top them up, if needed.

How much time does it take to build a Custom App?

How long is a piece of string? Depending on the complexity of the App, a first build usually takes 5 to 30 minutes. Then you iterate, and iterate, and iterate—constantly improving and adding functionality. You could argue that an App is never done.

How does versioning work?

Fibery automatically creates a version with every build so you can always roll back to a previous stable version if your experiments go wrong.
